Dynamic Upper Grade Teacher

Trinity Lutheran School, Hicksville, NY

 Trinity Lutheran School’s mission is to provide a Christ-centered education from early
childhood through middle school, where diversity and enthusiasm for learning are celebrated.
Position: Trinity Lutheran School, Hicksville, seeks a dynamic and caring full-time upper
elementary school teacher for the 2025-26 school year. Trinity teachers implement
Christ-centered, high quality, exemplary instruction, and commit themselves to Trinity’s mission
and philosophy. Trinity teachers will offer a rigorous curriculum fully aligned to Next Generation
Standards. A Trinity teacher will work to nurture the intellectual curiosity of students and offer
multiple opportunities for them to take full advantage of purposeful instruction.
Duties and Responsibilities
● Align with Trinity Lutheran Church and School mission and philosophy
● Implement curriculum, learning strategies and activities aligned to Next Generation Standards
● Set goals for student progress and achievement in collaboration with the Principal and
instructional teams.
● Plan for and provide academic accommodations and differentiation for all students.
● Demonstrate strong and effective communication skills
Qualifications
● BA in Education (MA Preferred)
● Commitment to the development and assessment of students’ academic, social and
behavioral progress
● Commitment to creating and maintaining a caring, Christian classroom environment.
● Commitment to being a team player.

Position Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to teach Leadership & Faith Formation to high school students. The ideal candidate will guide students as they explore faith, personal growth, and leadership through a Christ-centered lens.

Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)

● Minimum of 1–2 years of teaching experience ● Strong personal faith and a desire to disciple students in their relationship with Christ

● A member of a Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) congregation or willing to become actively involved in one

● Ideally a Rostered Lutheran Teacher (or open to pursuing the Lutheran Colloquy process through the LCMS) Responsibilities

● Teach Leadership & Faith Formation courses for grades 9–12

● Create and deliver engaging, Christ-centered lessons aligned with the school's Leadership & Faith curriculum

● Foster a safe and respectful classroom environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring their faith

● Build meaningful relationships with students, providing spiritual encouragement and mentorship

● Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs

● Facilitate reflective discussions, activities, and service opportunities that inspire personal growth and critical thinking

● Assess student progress through grading, feedback, and conferences

● Communicate regularly with parents, students, and staff as needed

● Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to ensure Jesus is at the center of every subject area and school initiative Benefits
